Threads of the Liberties is an Open Call collaboration between textile artist Cristina Nicotra and, community-focused, textile reuse hub, Change Clothes.

It invites Liberties community residents to help create a textile art tapestry of The Liberties, which will be unveiled at the opening of the Festival on July 20th.

Combining art and storytelling, through the common theme of sustainability, the envisioned large-scale, textile artwork will be created from clothes and home textiles donated by local people from The Liberties.

The workshops will take place at Change Clothes in the Digital Hub on Tuesday evenings June 9, 16 & 23rd from 6pm-8pm. Classes are free but numbers are limited, so advance booking is required.

In preparation for the class, each participant is requested to bring a piece of cloth or textile of personal meaning which they will contribute to the overall project.
