Open Call 2025

Please have a look at our 2024 programme in advance of submission to get an idea of the festival. Consider what was in it which you could build upon or what was missing which could help improve what we do.

Try to have a venue/location/space in mind for what you propose, whilst this is not essential it would be helpful.

Attempt to have an outline budget* in mind also. Please consider that we are a community festival so large-scale ambitious ideas may not be best suited to us but if they spark originality and interest, we can consider how to realise them. We endeavour to make most of our events free or allow access for a minimal charge.

We are particularly keen on ideas which integrate the community and reflect the people who live here and the rich heritage of the area.

Have you a work-in-development relating to the Liberties or a site-specific idea?

Areas such as Arts & Disability, Arts & Young People, Arts & Older People, and Arts & Minority Groups and sustainability are of particular interest to us.

* budget areas to consider include: performer fees, venue and/or equipment rental, materials, transport, workshops, admin…

In terms of submission, please send your idea in no more than 400 words (ideally in word doc or pdf format), along with a brief biography and initial budget where applicable. Please use the words: LIBERTIES FESTIVAL OPEN CALL 2025 in your subject line. If the idea has reference points from elsewhere, we welcome you including these too.

All submissions will be acknowledged. We will create a long-list of ideas for 2025 and an initial short list which may need more lead in time for exploration. Our programme will not be finalised until late Spring 2025.

The deadline for applications is Friday 31st January 2025.
